SPRING SUMMER 2022

ANISSA AIDA...

SPRING SUMMER 2022

AQUATIC

The look book that you are about to discover is the result of two photo shoots. The first one is a collaboration with photographer Amel Guellaty, under the art direction of Sofia Guellaty, though the Fashion Cluster program of Creative Tunisia.

You will find yourself surprised by the primary bright colors of the panels in the background. It will transport you into a different universe than the Mediterranean minimalist one of the previous lookbooks.

It was later on completed with a different photo shoot by photographer Hamza Bennour on the colorful rooftop of the Tangerine bar in Gammarth. You will recognize the brand’s signatures as well as iconic pieces, and new seasonal ones. The AQUATIC collection brings some newness in terms of colors. Being a spring summer collection that comes in the uncertainty of a global pandemic and at the awakening of a war in Ukraine, AQUATIC SS22 is meant to bring some cooling transparencies as well as some fresh notes coming from the sea.

ANISSA AIDA… is a designer ready to wear line inspired by the designer’s Tunisian culture and craftsmanship as well as her fascination for Japan. The collections meld North African and Japanese cultures, giving a modern spin to ancestral garments. Relaxed tailoring find meeting places between East and West, past and future, and tradition and modernity.

ANISSA AIDA… offers a minimalist dressing of versatile pieces for the culturally sensitives, in every aspect of their lives: from formal to casual cool. Through thoughtful choices concerning cuts and silhouettes and fabric selection, the mission statement is to achieve modern sophistication together with timeless classics.

Tunisia is rich in heritage, knowledge and traditional crafts. Over three thousand years of history, this culture remained open to all the civilizational inflow. ANISSA AIDA… explores the similarities between the traditional garments worn in North Africa and in the Middle East and Far East: China, Japan, and Korea.

Many guiding threads seem to link kimonos, « jebbas », « djellabas », caftans, and so forth: cuts, geometry, structure, textures and colors have a common language to reflect tradition and modernity.

Conscious about the impact the Fashion industry has on the environment, ANISSA AIDA… values sustainable sourcing, the ethical employment practices during production and collaborations with artisans. The label’s mission is to preserve cultural heritage by re-interpreting local ancestral techniques such as craftsmanship of leather goods and the hand-weaving of silk, linen and cotton.
